As a group, we looked a the lyrics of our chosen song and soon realised the amount of possible meanings behind the lyrics. Below are a few sections of the song that we found other hidden meanings for.
Well it covered your body it was pulling you in, so I kicked and I screamed and I sank my teeth in.
You cried get off me, get off me, get off me please, but I drowned you out I was trapped inside the.
The nightmare, nightmare, oh the nightmare, nightmare.
This part of the song can either be represented as the obvious meaning of being over taken by something, create a sense of struggling. However, the use of the word 'it' opens our mind to what it could be, it could be a feeling, a monster, or a ghost. 'Trapped inside' also conveys the struggle being represented by this song as it is explained that there is no escape.
We felt the blood stop, we felt the lights turn on.
This line itself is a rather strange part of the song. It creates many questions like where is the blood coming from? Why is it stopping? I personally believe that this means death- the blood has stopped pumping around the body and the lights turn on as you head 'towards the light at the end of the tunnel' but once again, it has many meanings.
As a group, we need to decide which path we wish to go down when we attempt to make a believeable visual for these lyrics.

The Ghost Frequency?
The Ghost Frequency are a UK band signed to the label City Rockers. Formed in a bedroom in spring 2005, they begun writing and recording songs. With a drummer now part of the team, they began rehersing for live shows in 2006. After a year of writing and gigging, attempting to gain a audience, they were signed up by City Rockers and begun work on their debut single 'Nightmare' which was released as a limited edition 7" red vinyl in August 2007, with the accompanying video becoming a favourite on the MTV2 channel as well as on YouTube. After a phase of success, including including joining Hadouken! on their UK tour as main support, the band split in spring 2009 with some band members going on to be involved in individual projects.

This picture of the band caught my eye as it shows their punky and rocky personality with their creative side being represented with the editing.

Choosing the song...
After swaying away from using 'Insomnia' as our song, we had to take a few steps back and find a appropriate song for our ideas. This involved asking around, finding people that could give us some possible songs to go with our idea. Luckily, everyone was happy to co-operate and we got quite a few possible songs. We went through the list and listened to the songs one by one, one after another and wrote down our honest opinions of each song.
Unfortuneately, Lucy Simonds was absent for this lesson. However, we knew that she liked The Ghost Frequency song as she was the one that found and liked the song and then proposed it as a strong possibility to me and Runi.
After listening to the list of songs, we went on to agree with Lucy that The Ghost Frequency- Nightmare was most appropriate and fitted the theme that we wanted. Finally, we have found a song :)
Second Group Meeting..
In this meeting, our ideas changed dramatically. Now, we plan to use Insomnia by Faithless.
For this song, we plan to portay the suffering of a young woman who has been negatively affected due to lack of sleep. This may be due to drugs and alchohol but we have not yet decided on this yet. We also think the style of song will broaden our choices in the editing process as the pace changes throughout the song.
We have choosen to use the version of this song that contains hardly any lyrics as we want the music to be dominant, not the singer.

After proposing this idea to our teacher, we decided to change the song again. We realised that Insomnia was anthem known across the world, meaning our video would not be original.
The Ghost frequency- NIGHTMARE!
This is the song that we are now planning to use for the media video. The song is hardly known, allowing us to experiment with the shots we wish to use as well as the story line.
